oxygen

this morning,
i was stopped
in the midst
of a breath,
by breath
whispering to me  -
"take me in,
take as much
as you want
of me,
but have you ever
paused
to wonder,
just how much
oxygen
you're taking away,
that someone
or something else
really needs?"
