Where Walls Are Built

i am not so concerned
about the walls
between you and me,
what they are
why they are, or
how they ought to be;
i am only concerned
about the ground
where those walls
are built and meet -
the earth upon which
you and I stand,
that extends into,
and moves between,
you and me.
