Raining Love

there was a time
when I was
too scared
of rain,
every drop
piercing me
like a single shard
of sharp glass,
tearing open
many hardened skins;

water became blood
flowing from
a stinging heart,
that knew not
how to dance
in the rain,

today,
when it rains,
my skins melt
like happy clay,
puddles form
and disappear,
trickles
become rivers,
then roaring rapids,
happy feet
do a little dance
to the pitter-patter,
a heart that's young
writes little love notes
on paper boats,
blotted by drops
that gave them a life,
laughter and tears
wash away
the sleepy silence,
and a heart
quietly remembers
how to love.

After the Rain

and I cried
     while it rained
          so my tears
              were washed away
                   without a trace
                        for the world
                            most loves
                                to smile
                                    at the rainbow
                                        after the rain.

Waiting in the Rain

Coke Studio in the car,
weeping window panes
paint a ruptured heart,
young green leaves
shake off water
like frisky puppies
after a bath,
tireless wheels
chase each other
on sleepy wet tar,
hustling honks
drown slipper claps,
walking voices hush
to a bird's shrill call,
time drags her feet
into the dewy grey light,
stillness cloaks her,
silence and song
move her breath,
eyes gaze on
and merge
into the restless skies,
while she cradles
her wild heart,
yearning
to skip and dance,
now waiting
alone in the rain.

In the Rain....

sheets of rain
slice
the windshield,
red and yellow lights
blur
into flowing black tar,
shadows creep up and
melt
into dripping darkness,
wipers wave their arms
in a clean sweep
over and over,
thoughts
come back to rest;
the view is clear,
life goes on,
even in gushing rain.

Cloudburst

voluptuous clouds
lure a forlorn earth,
aroused from her
morning tranquility;
her blades of green
stand on end,
awash with love,
on the brink of ecstasy;
the smell of wetness
in distant clouds, and
woodsmoke rushing in
through still pine trees -
pheromones set sail
with the swell of the wind,
as the clouds make love
to a willing earth -
bewitched, and set free;
and then,
the drumbeats sound
as rain meets stone,
and rivulets join hands
in a joyous dance,
fallen leaves, and
flowers strewn,
carry their gifts
in a sacred, flowing trance;
a dragonfly braves
the gutsy wind,
setting fire
to fears of old,
a sudden cloudburst
is what it takes
for the earth to tremble
in an orgasmic hold.

Let go

Let go, let go,
I don't need to know,
I just need to be,
I just need to flow,
There is nothing to know,
But to know how to let go.

Let go like the rain cloud,
That sheds every drop,
To pour its whole self out,
Onto the mountain  top.

Let go like the fall tree,
That drops leaf after leaf
To stand stripped of itself,
Now alive in a heap.

Let go like the wind,
That makes the whole world it's home,
To own nothing and all,
Even as it dances to its  doom.

Let go, let go,
I don't need to know,
I just need to be,
I just need to flow,
There is nothing to know,
But to know how to let go.
