Tears

Have you ever been
caught in a moment,
when your eyes
welling up
with flood waters,
poured themselves
into the toothless smile
of a child,
who knows only
how to laugh
into Life's face?
Tears hold more than
what the eyes can see
or the heart can feel.

The River of Longing

and all the things
I didn't do for you,
all the things
I couldn't do for you,
stay with me
like unsaid goodbyes
across the far banks
of a flowing river
that never rests,
but only grows
in its fervent longing
for everything that is you.

After the Rain

and I cried
     while it rained
          so my tears
              were washed away
                   without a trace
                        for the world
                            most loves
                                to smile
                                    at the rainbow
                                        after the rain.

The Undercurrent

like a great white shark
roams deep waters,
searching,
seeking satiation,
sadness
lurks beneath
the deathly calm -
the undercurrent
that revisits
my bosom
time and again.

Watching Sadness

it begins
with a
big swirl
in my heart
gaining momentum
as it spirals
down to connect
with the navel,
sucking up
my insides -
a Finger of God,
drawing its path
into my eyes,
where it explodes
unto its
watery end.
and then....
Silence.
Calm.
Bare.
to start
another story,
to draw
another path,
again.
Always.
