The Dance of Death

Sometimes
all you can do
is to sit
and watch the moths
do their death dance
around the flame
they think is home;
perhaps that's how
they remember
they are moths,
seeking a light
that was never
their own.

The Flame

the fire is stoked
inside of me,
she rises and dances
with the billowing winds,
drawing ancient souls
into a sacred dance
of shadow and light,
around the flames
of devotion
of her burning heart.

A Prayer

let me light
the flame inside
to keep me warm
on a cold dark night,
let me hold
the flame within
to light a path
that is not in sight,
let me seek not
to light another lamp
whose flame flickers
now in the dying light,
let me walk today
towards the Light,
knowing
that a day will come
when they will
hold their flame
and shine their light.

You See the Flame

you see
the flame
flickering
and
fanning
the mellow
darkness,
but
you see not
the yielding
body
which
in giving
of itself
to the hungry
darkness,
holds
the flame
you see
tonight.

Grace

a white lily
rests
in dark waters,
opening out
to drink sunbeams
from the heavens;

a virgin flamingo
drapes her head
to kiss still waters,
in a quiet thanksgiving,
before she rises
to flame the sky;

a lone leaf
twirls
into the rising mist,
with no cares -
for her wild beginnings
or uncertain endings;

a silhouette
walks alone
into the fading light,
holding a lamp
of quiet reverence,
for all of life.

लौ

अभय का
एक अकेला दिया
जलाया है मैने
इस टूटे दिल मे,
हवा की
भटकती उलझनो से
नही डरता है वो,
नही झुकता है वो,
नही झिझकता है वो,
खडा रह्ता है
उस झरोके के पास,
जिससे लिपटता है वो

The Last Flicker

A candle sits
in a dark corner.
Is time running out for her,
as she lights up her world
perhaps one last time?
for the night is long,
and the darkness heavy,
and she has to burn
herself out,
all night long;

Do you see
how she pours her light,
from the dark stories
that singed her life?
Do you see
how she gives herself
from the burning wick within
that holds her life?

Yes, the time has come.
The darkest stories
must be told -
the last flicker of light,
before her flame goes out,
tonight.
