I strain my eyes
but cannot see
the trivia
lost in the deep;
I look out through
an old telescope,
hoping to see
what my eyes don't know;
the trivia now
look so enlarged,
that I lose sight of
the whole and its parts;
what I need
is a telescope turned in,
into my heart
to search within;
for the world is vast
and it's hard to find
what I'm looking for,
when all lies inside.
but cannot see
the trivia
lost in the deep;
I look out through
an old telescope,
hoping to see
what my eyes don't know;
the trivia now
look so enlarged,
that I lose sight of
the whole and its parts;
what I need
is a telescope turned in,
into my heart
to search within;
for the world is vast
and it's hard to find
what I'm looking for,
when all lies inside.
