Tinsel and Dark Velvet

wait until dark
and you will see
the moon shining
in all its glory,
the clouds aglow
in grey and silver,
wrapping their gift
in tinsel and ribbons
of dark velvet,
to uncover
a solitary pearl,
held with love
in the stillness of the night.
